Registry claims that the service enhancements will reduce the .in website loading time to 40 millisec, compared to approximately 5000 millisec.
Afilias Limited, the registry for .info domains, yesterday announced that it has enhanced its registry services in support of the .in domain to deliver faster and robust services in India.
The company has installed a new DNS node in a facility colocated with the .in TLD nameserver and one of the core Internet root servers. The India node is part of a global DNS network provided to Afilias by its partner, UltraDNS, a DNS provider.
"We strive to support all of our domains in a state of the art manner everywhere around the globe including important, emerging parts of the world like India. The amount of time for Internet users to have a .IN Web site load and appear in their browser will be shortened to less than 40 milliseconds, compared to approximately 5000 milliseconds, before the service enhancement," said Ram Mohan, Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Technology Officer, Afilias.
