Provides security in managing hosting accounts through cPanel/WHM and Secure FTP.
2MHost, a provider of web hosting, today announced that it has added 128 bit SSL certificates on all servers at no additional charge to clients. The company says that with the SSL certifies clients can now securely manage their hosting accounts without worrying about the privacy of transmitted data or if they are connecting to the wrong server. It adds that SSL certificates also carry insurance to cover against certain losses.
The company also states that the SSL certificates will provide security in managing hosting accounts through cPanel/WHM and FTP (Secure FTP). It claims that clients can now use encrypted connections to download and send email through SSL-protected POP3 (Post Office Protocol), SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocal), and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol).
''Although we have always enabled our clients to manage their hosting accounts through the SSL protocol, we now enable them to do so backed by the protections and guarantees of a signed SSL certificate from a world-class vendor,'' said Mike Noman, 2MHost Owner. ''The vast majority of hosting providers simply self-sign their SSL certificates, but we have made the investment in 3rd party certificates to offer an extra level of assurance for our users.''
