New DNS service leverages its existing DNS network that supports the internet's infrastructure in its registry services business.
Afilias, a provider of registry services, today announced that it has expanded its technology with a new managed DNS service to assist organizations with managing internet traffic for their web presence.
The company states that Afilias Managed DNS leverages its existing DNS network that supports critical pieces of the internet's infrastructure in its registry services business. It avers that the secure and proven DNS network is now available on a stand-alone basis at competitive rates, allowing non-registry customers to upgrade to service while saving money. The company articulates that its managed DNS service offers customers a web portal to manage their account, a full reporting suite with standard near real time reports and graphs, and enhanced security services to prevent account hijacking.
''For most corporations, DNS is critical, but it is not their core competency. Afilias' Managed DNS Service allows organizations to have the peace of mind of relying on an expert to ensure that their Web site never goes down,'' said John Kane, Vice President of Corporate Services for Afilias. ''Afilias' Managed DNS Services are perfect for organizations that want to ensure 100% uptime of their Web site, are frustrated by the complicated pricing plans of other providers, and who want more control over and transparency into their DNS traffic,'' added Kane.
