Connects 1&1's newest data center with a number of Internet bandwidth providers, carrier hotels, and network hubs in Kansas City.

American Fiber Systems, provider of data networks to carriers and large enterprises, has completed a metropolitan fiber network in the Kansas City metropolitan area for 1&1 Internet Inc., a web hosting provider.

The metropolitan fiber network connects 1&1's newest data center, located in Lenexa, KS, with a number of Internet bandwidth providers, carrier hotels, and network hubs in Kansas City, Missouri. American Fiber Systems built a four-node, point-to-point, metro fiber circuit, which included three telecommunications points-of-presence already on the company's network in the Kansas City metro area.
