Offers open source tools for database administration, e-commerce and site stats with a content management system at no cost.
AIT, a web hosting company, today announced that it has added free utilities to all of its hosting plans.
The company is making available to its customers a series of open
source tools ideal for database administration, e-commerce, and sites
stats, plus a content management system that includes blogging, chat,
web mail and RSS feeds. These utilities are available at no cost and
can be provisioned through the AIT control panel, creating new options
for the company's hosting customers.
The package includes TikiWiki, PHP-written content management
groupware and extranets. Its capabilities include blog and newsletter
creation, image galleries and calendars, and forums and chat rooms.
Additionally, it offers osCommerce and AgoraCart, PHYMyAdmin and
AWStats, a website traffic analysis utility that charts number of
visitors, where they came from, how long they stayed, what they looked
at and authenticity of the visit.
"As technologies mature, it's incumbent on us to give our customers
as much horsepower as possible for managing their websites and those of
their customers," said Clarence Briggs, AIT's Chief Executive Officer.
"And with open source products, consumers get the ongoing benefit of
continuous updates and improvements on each item."
