Akamai Technologies, Inc., a provider of accelerating content and business processes online, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the 'Visionaries' quadrant of the 'Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Products, 2005' report.
The application delivery vendors were evaluated on the basis of their ability to execute and the completeness of their vision by Gartner's Vice President and analyst Mark Fabbi. According to 2005 criteria, Gartner focused on various areas within the parameters of vision and execution including market understanding, sales strategy, innovation, business model, market responsiveness and track record and customer experience.
The Akamai Web Application Accelerator service allows to accelerate web-based enterprise applications via the Akamai Platform. Using advanced route optimization techniques, Akamai avoids problems that occur on the Internet, delivering consistent, improved application performance for users worldwide, claims the company.
