Martin Haring to focus on extending the company's brand and strategic market opportunities throughout Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Akamai Technologies, Inc., a provider of cloud optimization services, today announced that Martin Haring has joined the company as Vice President of International Marketing. The company explains that with over two decades of executive leadership experience in marketing and strategic business development, Haring is a 17-year veteran with Sun Microsystems, most recently serving as Vice President, Worldwide Field Marketing for Sun's Systems Line of Business. Based in Zurich, Haring will lead the company's international marketing efforts, focusing on its strategic growth opportunities outside of North America. He will report to Greg Lazar, the company's General Manager for International Markets.

It further explains that during his tenure at Sun Microsystems, Haring held several international marketing positions including Vice President Marketing EMEA, Senior Director of Marketing for South and East Europe, Middle East & Africa and Director of Marketing for Germany and Austria. His experience includes strategic business planning and development, product marketing, channel marketing, industry marketing, as well as branding and communications. He started his career as a Systems Engineer at the IBM Labs in Boblingen, Germany. He received a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Cooperative Education (BA) in Stuttgart, Germany.
