Cisco based product allows customers to setup secure communication channels to their hosted server environment.
AppSite Hosting, a dedicated hosting provider for small-to-medium businesses, yesterday announced that it has released a Virtual Private Network (VPN) product allowing its customers to add another layer of protection against Internet data theft.
This Cisco based product will allow customers to setup secure communication channels to their hosted server environment. All the company's customers can now add a VPN connection to their server environment. It offers both site-to-site and client-to-site VPN services and can help customers choose the right solution to meet individual needs, claims the company.
"This new offering will help our customers lock down connectivity to their servers which will greatly reduce exposure to Internet hackers," said James Harris, General Manager of AppSite Hosting. "We're utilizing Cisco hardware to create this solution and feel it provides an excellent security measure without compromising connectivity performance."
"Many of our customers are moving to a distributed model and need a secure data communications channel. Using a VPN to connect to their server environment allows remote employees to access email, corporate data and other sensitive data over the Internet without fear of someone eavesdropping on the conversation," added Harris.
