6-Gb SAS/SATA host adapter demonstration planned for Storage Networking World.

ATTO Technology Inc., a provider of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced that they will ship 6-Gb SAS/SATA host interface connectivity to storage to select OEMs and partners within the next 30 days for certification and qualification. The company states that visitors to Storage Networking World, this week, will be able to see ATTO ExpressSAS 6-Gb SAS/SATA Host Adapters perform in initiator and target modes running the Iometer benchmarking tool at near line rates of 600 MB/sec. per lane.

Using the fastest SAS and SATA technology available today, it avers that it has engineered the best in flexibility with six models featuring initiator and target drivers and various combinations of internal and external connections. Also, an expansion of its ExpressSAS 3-Gb product line, the ExpressSAS 6-Gb adapters provide the fastest available connection to SAS/SATA storage in Windows, Mac and Linux environments.

Furthermore, the company also states that applications that benefit from the high throughput, bandwidth and reliability of it's ExpressSAS 6-Gb host adapters include high-performance digital and transactional databases, email compliance, tape backup, data warehousing and high-definition video post-production.
