CA ARCserve Backup allows high-performance appliances to virtualize standard disk storage into virtual tape.
ATTO Technology, Inc., a provider of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced that market leading recovery management software provider CA Inc. has certified their Virtual Tape hardware, the FastStream VT 5300 and FastStream VT 5700 for use with their CA ARCserve Backup software.
The company states that the CA ARCserve Backup allows customers to easily incorporate their FastStream Virtual Tape appliances into their backup environment. "The FastStream VT gives customers the flexibility to increase the ROI on their traditional tape solutions while enjoying the performance and capacity benefits of a disk-based virtual tape solution."
"Customers need to improve the performance, scalability and economy of their data protection processes without disrupting their IT operations," said Frank Jablonski, Director of Product Marketing for Recovery Management at CA. "Our testing validated that CA ARCserve Backup users can easily take advantage of the speed of CA's high-performance backup and ATTO's Virtual Tape appliance to effectively reduce backup windows and reduce data storage costs."
