Will distribute Power Server ID Secure Sockets Layer server certificates in the US and Canada via its Channel Connection portal.

Avnet Partner Solutions, a distributor and provider of enterprise servers, storage, software and services, recently announced an agreement with GeoTrust, a provider of identity and security solutions for e-business and a certificate authority, to distribute GeoTrust Power Server ID Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server certificates.

According to the company, SSL certificates, used to secure e-commerce, are being used to meet the security requirements of the enterprise server market. The addition of GeoTrust products will enable Avnet's partners to sell security solutions that meet the needs of the enterprise market. Power Server ID is a SSL certificate designed to provide browser compatibility and web security for mobile and networked environments. The certificate is compatible with major server lines and will be available to Avnet's business partners in the United States and Canada via its Channel Connection portal.
