New Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 raises the bar for spam and virus filtering for large organizations.
Barracuda Networks, Inc., a provider of spam firewall solutions, today announced the Barracuda Spam Firewall 900, its second carrier-class spam appliance available for large organizations.
The Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 offers the largest quarantine storage capacity and the fastest throughput available for an email gateway appliance, claims the company. It builds on the power and reliability offered with all Barracuda Spam Firewall solutions, and includes 300GB storage capacity for quarantined messages and four CPUs for higher volume email processing. Similar to its predecessor, the Barracuda Spam Firewall 800, the new Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 features advanced capabilities including redundant hot swap power supplies, and dual gigabit Ethernet ports. Another key feature included with the Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 is multiple RAID disk arrays for greater performance.
It also offers key outbound filtering techniques, such as outbound email attachment scanning, Barracuda Networks Rate Control System for protection against open relays and zombie PCs as well as support for inbound and outbound STARTTLS encryption. Multiple Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 units can be clustered for greater email redundancy and higher capacity. It will be available in November and is priced at $29,999 for the appliance and $6,599 per year for subscription to the Energize Update service.
