C I Host, a provider of web hosting and data center operations, yesterday announced that it has expanded its data center capacity across North America, supplying its 220,000 customers the ability to handle more traffic on their sites without disruption.
The company stated that in its primary data center in Bedford, Texas, it installed GigE 1000 Mbits from Hurricane Electric Internet Services and GigE 1000 Mbits from Btnaccess, bringing the total capacity to 7 Gbits per second. In the Chicago data center, it installed GigE 1000 Mbits from Yipes and OC3 155 Mbits from Global Crossing. At the Los Angeles data center, the company installed 155 Mbits from Global Crossing.
"For our customers to have the edge they need to be competitive in their fields, they need enough bandwidth to handle today's ecommerce activities," said Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host.
