Provides clients with database backup feature that are created from within Plesk and are stored on the client's local computer.
Cirrus Tech, a web hosting company, today announced the release of Plesk 8.6 on its shared web hosting plans. The company claims that with this plan, clients can create a backup of their databases directly from their control panel.
The company explains that in previous versions of Plesk, clients had the ability to create a complete backup of their entire web hosting plan, but were limited in their ability to pick and choose what they wanted to backup. Now, clients can choose to simply create a backup of just their database and restore it when necessary without having to restore their entire hosting plan, it adds.
The company claims that these backups are created from the Plesk control panel and are stored on the client's local computer. Clients can make database backups as they choose, and select which backup they want to restore. It avers that clients still have the option to create an entire backup of their hosting plan as well.
"It's often the case that clients just want to create a backup of their databases," says Mani Aminian, Sales Manager at Cirrus Tech. "By being able to do just that, clients can benefit because they will be able to reduce their bandwidth consumption and time spent creating backups."
