CloudLinux OS now proven for use on Atomia automation platform.
CloudLinux Inc., a software company dedicated to serving the needs of hosting service providers, yesterday announced that CloudLinux OS is now fully compatible with the Atomia software automation platform.
According to the company, CloudLinux cages each user account within its own Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE), allowing system administrators to limit CPU, memory, and the concurrent connections available to each server tenant. LVE effectively prevents the 'bad neighbor effect,' wherein one tenant can slow or take down an entire server. By limiting abuse, shared hosters can substantially increase server density, bringing far greater efficiency to their business.
It articulates that CloudLinux OS includes MySQL Governor, which enables tight control over the MySQL resources available to users, and will soon release CageFS, a virtualized file system for shared hosters. CageFS assures that user files are only available to, and viewable by, their owner.
The company states that the Atomia Cloud Hosting Platform is a complete solution for DNS (Domain Name System), shared and VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting, and is used by several high-profile hosting companies in Scandinavia and Europe. Atomia AB was founded in Sweden in 2009 by the team who started Loopia. With more than 10 years of experience from hosting, Atomia has built a hosting automation platform with both hosters and developers in mind.
"Now, Atomia customers can easily upgrade their operating system to CloudLinux OS greatly enhancing the security and efficiency of their shared hosting businesses," said Igor Seletskiy, CloudLinux CEO. "Better control over computing resources leads to a better overall customer experience and results in lower churn."
"With our background in hosting, we understand just how important performance and uptime is to our clients and their customers," said Daniel Jarpinger, Executive Vice President of Atomia. "We knew from the beginning that we wanted to build a platform that could deliver perfect uptime and believe that our platform's capabilities of clustering and scaling nodes in combination with the features offered in CloudLinux sets a milestone in the evolution of shared hosting. We have seen some really great results from this cooperation already."
"The combination of CloudLinux and Atomia has significantly improved our uptime and ensures the best possible experience for our customers, while improving retention," said Anders Aleborg, Founder and CEO of Binero hosting. "With CloudLinux OS, customers are assured access to all of the resources they pay for."
