Cologne-based CM-AG is now offering enhancements for the WYSIWYG creation of online shops and for database integration. The first company to offer both new functions is the Swisscom subsidiary Bluewin AG, located in Switzerland. Over 500,000 users worldwide use a CM4all homepage tool kit to create and manage their personal websites. These tool kits are marketed by many prominent providers (e.g. T-Online, 1&1 Internet AG).

In the past few months, CM-AG has developed an entire portfolio of new e-commerce functions to supplement the CM4all products. This process was initiated due to requests from several small and medium-sized businesses for a WYSIWYG enhancement of the homepage tool kit oriented towards e-business. The new CM4all enhancements permit the simple creation of online shops and the integration of databases with search functionalities into the website. The online shop makes it possible to provide a clear representation of a technically unlimited number of products with photos and detailed information. Visitors to the shop website can order their products using the convenient shopping basket function and select one of the pre-set payment methods for the individually listed terms of payment.

The database integration functionality makes it possible for homepage operators to easily import databases (e.g. dealer directories or product lists) into his or her website. These are automatically displayed in table form in keeping with the homepage design. Parameters can also be easily assigned to the display and field selection. Visitors to the finished website can search for database contents according to specific criteria using the convenient search function. With these new enhancements, CM4all homepage tool kit users can swiftly create a professional website – and without technical know-how – which has many extra features in addition to the database and online shop, such as a Flash intro, online photo album, forum, online survey (voting), route planner and site map. The first provider to offer both of these new enhancements to its customers is the Swisscom subsidiary Bluewin AG in Switzerland. These functions can be purchased as extra services at an additional charge within the respective hosting tariffs. T-Online Business has offered the shop enhancement since November, also as an additional option for various hosting packages.
