Partnership to offer continuous data protection for web hosts.

cPanel, a hosting automation software provider, today announced that it has partnered with R1Soft, a developer of Continuous Data Protection products for Linux and Windows, to offer its data protection solution to users of the cPanel/WHM hosting control panel system.

The company states that with the partnership, cPanel control panel license holders – typically Web hosting providers with many clients – receive volume discounts on R1Soft's Continuous Data Protection software, which offers disk-based, near-continuous data backups. It adds that the cPanel license holders also receive access to a variety of marketing and sales tools from R1Soft, so they can increase revenue by offering Continuous Data Protection to their own clients.

It further avers that R1Soft's data protection solution currently integrates into all major hosting control panels, including cPanel. Administrators and end users alike can easily manage backups and restore files through a fast-loading online interface. In addition, R1Soft's MySQL module allows information in a database – as specific as a certain table – to be resorted in the event of a disaster or accidental data loss by the server administrator.
