This year's categories include future thinking and design concepts and innovation in public sector amongst many others.
DatacenterDynamics today announced that it has issued a call for entries for its Datacentre Awards 2008 event, Europe's awards dedicated to the datacentre sector.
Datacentre Awards 2008 will be presented for categories including Future Thinking and Design Concepts; Innovation in Micro, Medium and Mega Datacentres; Young Mission Critical Engineer of the Year; Innovation in the Public Sector, Innovation in an Outsourced Environment and Datacentre Operational Team. In addition, a Green Datacentre Award will be made as well as an Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry.
DatacenterDynamics states that, inaugurated in 2007, the Datacentre Awards were established to recognise technical innovation and standards of professionalism amongst those responsible for designing, constructing and operating datacentres. Another motive was to raise the profile of a sector upon which the success of many business and social initiatives depend.
The Datacentre Awards are judged by an independent panel of experts, drawn from the operator and vendor communities. The sponsors of the Datacentre Awards 2008 include APC, CBRE, Chloride, EDF, Foreman Roberts, GDCM, Migration Solutions, Norland Managed Services and Rittal.
