Purchases VISI.com from DSL.net for $3.3 million in cash; newly formed entity will operate under the name VISI.

Digital North, Inc., a managed web hosting firm, announced that it has acquired VISI.com, a local Internet service provider.

VISI.com has been purchased from DSL.net, Inc., a New Haven, Connecticut, based broadband communications services provider, for $3.3 million in cash. The newly formed entity will operate under the name VISI.

"We've been working with VISI.com for four years and it's been a great, productive relationship," said Mike Sowada, CEO, Digital North. "We've been a contract supplier of web hosting services for them and they've provided our customers Internet connectivity. Their Internet solutions fully complement our web hosting capabilities. I've always been impressed with the company."

Gary Elfert, Sales and Marketing Director of VISI.com, agrees that the new arrangement is mutually beneficial for both companies and their customers. "Digital North is now able to offer connectivity solutions to its managed hosting customers and VISI can offer truly customized managed hosting solutions. Customers will benefit from having a full range of knowledge and capabilities all under one roof."

Elfert says the acquisition allows VISI.com to enter into high-growth services such as highly customized managed hosting solutions and Microsoft Exchange Hosting where Digital North already has a significant presence.
