Domain The Net Uncovers New Security Solutions

13th March 2006

NameWatch, NameSecure and NameLock, prevent and identify pharming attacks and provide a solution for thefts, hijacking and takeovers of domains & websites.

Domain The Net, an ICANN accredited registrar and a provider of brand Security and protection services, announced three new anti-pharming and brand security solutions.

The solutions NameWatch, NameSecure and NameLock are intended to prevent and identify pharming attacks and provide a solution for thefts, hijacking and takeovers of domain names and websites.

NameWatch monitors databases of domain registries and aims to prevent hijacks, thefts, unauthorized registrar transfers. Whereas NameSecure, an information security system for anti-pharming operations, monitors changes of the domain's settings in DNS servers, in order to detect and alert customers of pharming activities. While NameLock is designed to secure the domain at the Registrar's system. This solution prevents changes in the domain name and its settings.

According to Yoav Keren, CEO of Domain The Net, " Due to the large investment in information security which includes firewalls, anti-virus software and other measures, parties who wish to harm the organization or to gain profit on its behalf, have found other ways to carry out their criminal plans. Thus, they exploit one of the central weak-points of an organization which is the security and maintenance of its domain name."
