Through its event 'Happy Hour' on 26 July 2006, the registrar will allow customers to purchase a .com, .net, or .org domain for $1 between July 27, 2006 and July 31, 2006.

Dotster, Inc., an ICANN-accredited domain registration and web hosting company, yesterday announced its tenth virtual 'Happy Hour' event scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

Beginning at 4:00 PM Eastern, visitors to the Dotster website will receive a coupon code valid between July 27, 2006 and July 31, 2006. The coupon will allow customers to purchase any single .com, .net, or .org domain for one dollar.

The company says that the event will be preceded by the infamous 'Happy Hour Countdown Clock' on the homepage of Dotster. The coupon system limits customers to one domain at the discounted rate. A total of 1,000 coupons will be available during the hour.

"With the price set at a dollar, there's very little risk in picking up that domain name you've been kicking around in your head," says Marci Hansen, Marketing Director for Dotster. "Some customers select domains I like to call 'oh-what-the-heck' names: things like happybirthdayjames.com and ducttapeandbubblegum.com."
