Dyno Nobel, one of the world's leading explosives company, with over 4,500 employees located in North and Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific, has selected AT&T as its strategic provider of global data network services. By terms of a four-year agreement valued at more than US$6 million, AT&T will deploy an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) to more than 50 locations spanning 13 countries in EMEA, Asia Pacific, North and Latin America.

The contract consolidates with AT&T Dyno Nobel's global networking information technologies infrastructure previously supplied by three network providers. In addition to the IP VPN, the agreement will also include services such as Managed Internet, Firewall, Virus Scanning and Remote Access Services. Dyno Nobel selected AT&T based on a number of parameters including its global presence, a world-class infrastructure offering flexible classes of services and redundancy, and sophisticated network management platform, giving the Norwegian based company the flexibility it needs to help ensure its network meets its demanding business requirements.

AT&T's IP VPN will enable Dyno Nobel to deploy mission-critical applications on its corporate network, with real-time access to its locations worldwide. AT&T's global, integrated Information Technology networking infrastructure will provide a high level of security and also support Dyno Nobel's business continuity plan, helping to ensure that critical services and applications will not be interrupted by a disaster or unforeseen business interruption. AT&T's solution for Dyno Nobel utilizes AT&T's integrated Global Enterprise Management System (iGEMS) platform, a proprietary strategic managed services platform developed by AT&T Labs, in which AT&T has invested over $200 million.
