EDS and NTT Communications today announced the Asian region’s first hosting service guaranteeing 100-percent availability for managed Web sites and applications. The service, named “AGILIT,” is available exclusively in Japan from NTT.

The agreement is a key component in EDS’ corporate strategy to transform businesses into agile enterprises. The new hosting service utilizes EDS’ 100-percent hosting offering that has been successfully rolled out in the North American and European markets. Today’s announcement reinforces EDS’ strategy to partner with market and industry leaders, like NTT Communications, to deliver the services clients require. The agreement is a continuation of the business agreement between NTT Communications and EDS, launched in early 2003, offering IT and communications services to businesses in Japan and across the globe.

The 100-percent guaranteed service meets the market demand to automate an increasingly complex blend of servers and applications brought on by the growth of the Internet and the shift toward distributed, Web-based computing. The hosting service will automate a company’s server and data center environments, and clients will benefit from a reduction in operating costs and improved security and quality of their IT environments.
