The company commits to a series of actions to reduce the carbon footprint on an annual basis.
EZPZ Hosting, a web hosting provider, today announced that it has introduced carbon negative Web hosting services, enabling customers to reduce their carbon footprint beyond neutral. The company states that it has taken the lead in this sector to become the first Web hosting company to achieve Planet Positive status.
It articulates that Planet Positive is a global environmental mark of achievement, signifying that a business is taking active steps to reduce its impact on climate change. It further states that it has measured the carbon footprint of its business, made a commitment to reduce it on an annual basis, and offset it by 110% into verified carbon projects.
The company avers that it worked with dcarbon8, a carbon and sustainability consultancy in the UK, to measure the carbon footprint associated with their business operations. This included a detailed assessment of electricity usage, commuting and general waste, from which dcarbon8 was able to determine the footprint of the business.
"The obligation of corporate citizenship has been the driving force in our decision to become Planet Positive. We wanted to provide a green web hosting service to clients who not only wanted to receive robust Web hosting services but also who want to make a meaningful contribution to our planet," said Daniel Butcher, director of EZPZ Hosting.
