Joins dozens of companies working to strengthen applications deployed in Microsoft environments.
Fortify Software Inc., a provider of security products that help companies identify, manage and remediate software vulnerabilities, yesterday announced that it has joined the Microsoft SecureIT Alliance, a community of industry partners working to provide security solutions for the Microsoft platform.
By joining the SecurityIT Alliance, Fortify will join dozens of companies working to strengthen applications deployed in Microsoft environments.
Approximately 75 percent of malicious attacks occur against applications rather than networks. Fortify and the SecureIT Alliance will work to help software vendors and in-house development teams begin to implement secure coding practices to strengthen new applications and confront these new attacks.
"Microsoft's SecureIT Alliance continues to attract security leaders from across the industry to collaborate on how to reduce risk," said Gerry Albert, Senior Program Manager for SecureIT Alliance, Microsoft Corporation.
"Fortify Software is committed to supporting security and software practitioners in creating securely coded applications throughout the software development lifecycle," said Mike Armistead, VP and Co-founder, Fortify Software. "By collaborating with the SecureIT Alliance, Fortify, Microsoft and its partners are helping the industry reduce risk by addressing the growing number of attacks against software applications."
