Customers can avail of free cPanel hosting with no restriction on file size, PHP, and low bandwith allocation.

fxts.net, formerly a $1 hosting provider, is now accessible by everyone after converting to a free hosting service. The company states that the new service is ad-free, and based on the cPanel.

The company declared that after gaining notoriety earlier this month for offering 10 Terabytes each of disk space and bandwidth for just $1 per month, it recently discontinued new signups on its 10 Terabyte plan and introduced a free hosting plan. The company further states that the new plan includes none of the restrictions typically found on free hosting services, including file size limits, PHP restrictions, and low bandwidth allocations.

The company affirms that it offers the cPanel 11 Web hosting, which is an industry-standard piece of software. No ads are served on users' Websites. Because it belives that most people are familiar with cPanel and its operation, and the company further declared that it does not provide traditional means of support, instead it is focusing solely on email support.

"The 10 Terabyte hosting plan, while a great idea, just wasn't catching on in the marketplace. People didn't get it," stated fxts.net President Daniel Briere. "We wanted to offer something useful, but that wasn't it. So we went back to the drawing board, looking at what we could bring to the free hosting market, and it became very clear to use that we could offer a very useful service within that market."

"The objective is to keep our costs low, while still providing a good service," said Mr. Briere. "Offering support via email only enables this, as customer support is a huge expense in the Web hosting industry. By getting rid of much of the customer support expense, we can focus more on bringing out features that are useful, and that go a cut above the typical free hosting plan."
