Search engine technology company FyberSearch LLC has released a new search engine called GhetoSearch that allows Internet users to find potentially useful information that cannot be found in most search engines because they only display the 1,000 most popular websites.
GhetoSearch works by reversing FyberSearch's link popularity based ranking algorithm so that the last result is displayed first, the second to last result is displayed second, and so forth. This has several effects on the quality and type of search results people are presented with. One of the effects is that searchers will receive more results from domain names they have never heard of before. Another effect is that searchers will find useful resources they never would have known existed.
GhetoSearch is compatible with the large collection of advanced features that are available on FyberSearch's general web search engine. The only catch is that the results are still reversed, so users will receive some very unusual results when using the advanced features.
"GhetoSearch proves FyberSearch's ranking algorithm is capable of returning popular results, finds hidden documents that no one would have known about otherwise and is good for a laugh because it flips the web that people are used to seeing upside down. It is definitely Ghetto," says Nathan Enns, Founder and President of FyberSearch.
