GeoTrust, Inc. (geotrust.com), a provider of identity and security solutions and the second largest certificate authority, last week announced that it has expanded its international operations into Australia by signing a distribution agreement with Distribute.IT (distribute.com.au), a wholesaler of domain name registration services.

Distribute.IT will discontinue selling Thawte SSL certificates and will now exclusively offer GeoTrust's SSL certificates. The company will offer GeoTrust's QucikSSL and Enterprise SSL along with a few other products to its network of more than 300 resellers.

"GeoTrust's affordable, automated approach to validating and distributing SSL certificates has proven to be much more popular with Australian businesses than the Thawte offering was," said Alex Woerndle, director of Distribute.IT. "Our resellers overwhelmingly preferred the GeoTrust solution due to its account management capabilities, its increased brand awareness and certificate issuance speed."

GeoTrust solutions are available across Australia at wholesale prices starting at approximately USD$90.
