GlobalSign, a Certification Authority and provider of SSL security, yesterday announced the availability of a free, 45 day SSL test certificates which will offer customers the ability to experience GlobalSign's range of SSL certificates before they buy.

The new service enables existing and first time customers, or customers switching from other SSL providers, to evaluate the GlobalSign SSL Certificate feature set and service. The test provides a range of benefits to customers, for example, the ability to test for themselves the GlobalSign Root CA certificate in their own browsers, Operating Systems and applications, to experience GlobalSign's next-generation automated certificate validation and issuance process and to test the certificate profile used within GlobalSign certificates, to trial the innovative options based enrolment system pioneered by GlobalSign to allow customers to test wildcard SSL and the use of
Subject Alternative Names, to implement and test SSL security within internal staging or test environments in preparation for their upcoming production releases and to experience the expert technical support services available by default to all certificate holders.

DomainSSL test certificates, issued from the GlobalSign root certificate, are a fully functioning 45 day version of the DomainSSL product. OrganizationSSL test certificates are issued from a test root and will allow the customers to examine and test the certificate profile within test environments without the need to go through the usual vetting processes.
