AccountExec allows domain owners to delegate various domain management functions to others, while still retaining complete control over their domains.
GoDaddy.com, an ICANN accredited registrar of domain names, today announced a new, domain management feature, 'AccountExec'.
Available to all Go Daddy customers free of charge, AccountExec allows domain owners to delegate various domain management functions to others, while still retaining complete control over their domains.
With AccountExec, the owner (or registrant) of one or more domains initially creates groups of domains, then appoints one or more AccountExecs to update and manage those domains on the owner's behalf. The owner assigns the AccountExec one or more pre-defined roles for each domain group, such as Read Only, Admin, Contacts, Nameservers, Auto Renew, Cancel, Hosts and Domain Forwarding. An AccountExec who is assigned a 'NameServer' and 'Cancel' role, for example, has the ability to both modify nameserver information, as well as cancel, the entrusted domain. And, Account Execs with 'Domain Forwarding' and 'Contacts' roles can manage domain forwarding settings and modify contact information for the domains assigned to them.
"AccountExec was developed in direct response to our customers," said Bob Parsons, President and Founder, Go Daddy.com. "Customers asked for a tool that would allow them to delegate domain name management responsibilities to a variety of people on a variety of levels - yet ensure they retain control over their domains. So we developed the exact solution they requested." Parsons added."
