Tool is designed to speed the flow of web site information to the search engine's index.
Google today announced the launch of Google Sitemaps program, which is designed to help webmasters to automatically submit their Web pages to Google. The program is an experiment in web crawling and is currently available in beta.
The Webmaster of a site is required to create and post an XML file on the site's server describing which pages on the site should be indexed. The Sitemap Generator is created to help in the process of creating the XML file and requires Python 2.2 or higher.
"Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to help improve your coverage in the Google index. It's a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google to keep us informed of all your web pages, and when you make changes to these pages," the company said on the Sitemaps site.
