The new facility will compliment its two existing data centres in Northampton which are approaching full capacity.

Host-it, a provider of rack space, co-location and dedicated servers, today announced the launch of their new data centre in Milton Keynes.

The company states that the new facility will compliment their two existing data centres in Northampton which are approaching full capacity. It selected Milton Keynes/Bletchley due to the number of technology companies that have relocated there, the commuting distance to London and its proximity to their existing facilities.

The company further states that it is also an advantage that this new facility is adjacent or near to a number of major fibre providers switch rooms. The company avers that in addition to the normal security features such as physical security, alarms, access control and CCTV some additional features have also been included.
