Free student accounts to include options like ASP.NET, PHP, MS SQL & MySQL databases, FrontPage extensions, email accounts, etc.
Hosting Spot, Inc., a provider of web hosting services for small and medium sized companies, recently announced that they are providing free web hosting accounts to students.
The company was founded in 2003 by Jonathan Meersman, a college professor who teaches a variety of eCommerce, web design, and web development courses, with an aim to provide web hosting services to students; however has continued to grow by servicing clients in the public and private sectors.
"We are excited to be working with the educational community to offer free web hosting accounts to students," said Jonathan Meersman, President, HostingSpot.net. "This strategic maneuver will allow us to continue to be 'Your One-Stop Web Hosting Spot' and we'll continue providing exceptional value-added services. The free student accounts will include a variety of options typically reserved for plans purchased by web developers, such as: ASP.NET, PHP, MS SQL databases, MySQL databases, SSI, FrontPage Extensions, Webalizer statistics, email accounts, and same day activation."
On June 9, 2005, Hosting Spot announced their alliance with e-onlinedata, Inc., an Internet merchant account provider, to provide real time credit card processing for their web hosting clients.
