Dave Piscitello, appointed as Security and Stability Advisory Committee Fellow; will work on issues relating to Domain Name & Addressing Systems.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) recently announced the appointment of Dave Piscitello to the position of Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) Fellow.
In this position Dave will work with Steve Crocker and other SSAC members and ICANN staff to review and report on issues relating to the Domain Name and Addressing Systems which encompass this field of expertise. Dave is a recognized expert in the fields of Internet Routing and Security. For a number of years Dave has run his own consultancy, providing advice and solutions to a number of organizations both public and private. He is well published as a freelance writer in publications such as the Business Communications Review, Wall Street Ticker, CMP Security Pipeline and ISSA Journal.
In his earlier career, Dave worked on projects as a member of technical staff for Bell Communications Research and Unisys Corporation. Dave holds a BS in Mathematics from Villanova University. He has also achieved a number of personal honors and awards including a President's Recognition Award during his tenure at Bellcore. He is the Founder and former Chair of The Internet Security Conference, a member of ISSA, the Information Systems Security Association, and a certified Internet firewall administrator.
