Enters into commercial and technical negotiations with ICM Registry, Inc, for the proposed .XXX sponsored Top Level Domain.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), yesterday announced that it has entered into commercial and technical negotiations with ICM Registry, Inc. (.XXX),

ICANN announced that the independent evaluation process, which began last year from a pool of ten applications for sponsored Top Level Domain (sTLD) has now moved to the next stage. ICANN has also recently entered into commercial and technical negotiations with the following additional candidate registries, .CAT, .POST & .MOBI. Discussions continue among ICANN Board and Staff regarding the evaluation of four additional proposed sponsored Top Level Domains -  .ASIA, .MAIL, .TEL-Pulver, & .TEL-Telnic.

ICANN recently announced the designation of two new sponsored Top-Level Domains, .JOBS and .TRAVEL at the 22nd ICANN International meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
