Caird Corporation acquired the division and intends to continue expanding the HostCentric brand.
Caird Corporation, a shared hosting provider, recently announced the acquisition of web host Hostcentric from Interland after lengthy planning and negotiations.
Interland has owned and managed the Hostcentric brand since acquiring the company in 2003. Caird will maintain the Hostcentric brand and add the Hostcentric business, which represents thousands of hosting customers world-wide, to its existing family of shared hosting brands. For the quarter ended February, 2005; the HostCentric Accounts produced approximately $1.2 million in revenue.
The total purchase price for HostCentric is variable, depending on the success of the parties in migrating the accounts from Interland's current hosting platform to Caird's platform. The total purchase price is expected to be as much as $5.3 million, but will in any event not be less than $3.4 million.
Plans for Hostcentric include adding additional functionality and features to the hosting platform and service. In June, customers will be introduced to new functionality when accounts are transferred to an enhanced hosting platform, which was designed specifically to meet the needs of businesses, resellers and individuals. The plan is to combine the best of what Hostcentric has to offer with many new features, products and services, including a great new client control panel, says Caird.
The Hostcentric brand will continue to be marketed to business, resellers and individuals offering them the shared hosting plans, reseller and affiliate partner programs and service they have been relying upon.
