Customers will be able to sync their Windows Mobile 5.0 devices through the new 'push email' feature included in the latest version of Exchange.
Intermedia.NET, a provider of Microsoft Exchange and web hosting solutions for SMBs, today announced free ActiveSync as a service to its Exchange hosting customers.
The company says that the new version of ActiveSync allows buyers of the Motorola Q and other phones to automatically sync with their business email accounts. Through its offering, Exchange hosting customers will be able to sync their Windows Mobile 5.0 devices automatically and continuously for free right out of the box, through the new 'push email' feature included in the latest version of Exchange.
"Our Exchange hosting competitors charge extra for this service, so Intermedia.NET offering ActiveSync for free with hosted Exchange is great news for businesses," said Serguei Sofinski, CEO of Intermedia.NET. "With our unique 1 GB mailboxes and free ActiveSync, SMBs can truly afford enterprise-class Microsoft Exchange email."
In addition to synchronizing with a PC, ActiveSync also allows direct synchronization with Microsoft Exchange Server, which lets users keep e-mail, calendar data, tasks and contact information updated wirelessly while away from the office, claims the company. It supports PC synchronization via USB cable, Bluetooth or infrared connection and allows the transfer of data to any handheld device running Windows Mobile or Windows CE operating systems.
