Names Seattle as the location for its new data center; provides Internap with more access to its proprietary Performance IP service.
Internap Network Services, a provider of performance-based routing solutions over the Internet, announced that its Seattle data center would be the location of its newest expansion efforts.
The announcement comes on the heels of additional build-outs in Boston and New York, which were initiated to meet the demands of clients in those metropolitan markets. Completion of the proposed Seattle expansion is expected in early 2007.
Internap will support the Seattle colocation expansion with enhancements to its underlying data center infrastructure, as well as a dedicated network operations center and sales team. The new space will also give Internap the ability to provide more access to its proprietary Performance IP service, which provides optimized Internet connectivity.
"I believe customers value our flexible approach to colocation and find that it complements our premium IP and route optimization services," said James P. DeBlasio, Chief Executive Officer of Internap. "This expansion allows us to accommodate the market's growth by offering the best possible environment for providing high-value Internet connectivity."
