Claims to block intrusion attempts, spyware, viruses; also provides Virus Prevention System and Buffer Overflow Exploit Protection.
Internet Security Systems (ISS), a provider of managed security services, today announced that it has extended its security services to include Managed Protection Service (MPS) for Desktop Firewalls.
According to the company, MPS for Desktop Firewalls enables companies to accelerate deployment and configuration of ISS' RealSecure Desktop Protector and Proventia Desktop products while reducing operational costs. It blocks intrusion attempts, spyware, viruses and other Internet threats. The solution also provides ISS' Virus Prevention System (VPS) and Buffer Overflow Exploit Protection (BOEP) and can support organizations from 500 to 100,000 or more users.
"ISS has set the industry benchmark for managed security services, supporting more than 1,400 customers worldwide, and has achieved another market first with the launch of MPS for Desktop Firewalls. We understand our customers entrust the security of their operations to ISS, and the impact a security breach or incident can have on their business. This is why we are the only company to back our managed security services with performance-based Service Level Agreements that include a warranty for failure to achieve agreed-upon terms. We stand by our promise to protect our customers," said Rick Miller, vice president of managed security services at ISS.
