Rolls out Windows Server 2008 VPS hosting through exclusive Parallels Gold Partnership.
KickAssVPS.com, a Linux and Microsoft Windows Virtual Private Server hosting provider, today announced that it has deployed the industry's first publicly available Virtual Private Server powered by Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.5, made possible through an exclusive partnership with Parallels.
The company says that Microsoft Windows Server 2008, which offers the next-generation of Microsoft technologies, is the most recent publicly available iteration of the new server platform. Users can take advantage of a new portfolio of upgrades, including web support with IIS7, more efficient management capabilities with the new Server Management suite, and increased security in the operating system and network stack.
It states that the beta period for its customers is expected to last until May. It avers that it is able to offer Microsoft Windows Server 2008 during a special beta program to its VPS customers using Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.5, a virtualization software available to it exclusively as part of its Parallels Gold Partnership.
"Our high volume of VPS provisioning enables us to work more closely and directly with Parallels, the leading developer of virtualization technologies for our industry. It is always rewarding when we can leverage this relationship to deliver innovative new technologies exclusively for our customers, and it represents just another value-add that contributes to the allure our company boasts in the hosting marketplace," said Brian Emerson, president and CTO of KickAssVPS.com. "As leader in the Virtual Private Server market, our customers look to us to introduce the latest features and developments available in the marketplace."
