Marks Landmark's continuing strategy of acquiring of Internet services providers and online marketing solutions.
Digital Envoy, Inc., an Internet protocol and geolocation technology provider, yesterday announced that it has been acquired by Landmark Communications, Inc., a privately-held diversified media company.
According to the company, the acquisition continues Landmark's
strategy of acquiring of Internet services providers and online
marketing solutions. Michael Alston, President of Landmark Interactive,
a division of Landmark Communications, believes that Digital Envoy,
through its Digital Element and Digital Resolve business units, is
positioned to build upon its technologies to further address the needs
of its customers.
"Digital Envoy has demonstrated strong technological leadership by
building upon the intellectual property it initially developed to allow
media properties to target online users," said Alston. "Through Digital
Element and Digital Resolve, the company is addressing many of the
biggest challenges associated with conducting business in the online
world, including creating more meaningful interactions with customers
and safeguarding against fraud and identity theft."
Bill Calpin, President and CEO of Digital Envoy, will continue to
lead the company and build upon its eight years of success while
leveraging the resources of Landmark Communications to expand Digital
Envoy's footprint and provide new services to clients. Co-founders
Dennis Maicon, Executive Vice President of Digital Resolve, and Rob
Friedman, Executive Vice President of Digital Element, will also
continue to spearhead the growth of their respective business units.
