The company will offer up to three months of free power and space within six of its colocation sites.
Last Mile Connections, a carrier-neutral colocation and online bandwidth exchange provider, today announced that the company will offer up to three months of free power and space, within six of its colocation sites, to any nonprofit or government agency involved in Hurricane Katrina's relief efforts or to any Gulf Coast business now devastated by the hurricane.
Each center is available with access to local, national and international data, voice and IP carriers. The sites have fully redundant back up power, AC & DC availability, and overhead cable, rack and cabinet space. They will also provide the services of their on-site technicians to aid in the initial setup and connection of the affected companies' networks.
"LMC would like to reach out and help those affected, either by providing critical communications to the agencies involved in disaster recovery or by providing data center backup to local telecom companies and businesses," said James Martino, Chief Executive Officer and President, Last Mile Connections.
