Will deploy the Intrusion Prevention System to protect its internal network and provide customers with secure hosting services.
TippingPoint, a division of 3Com and a provider of intrusion prevention, recently announced that MaximumASP, a provider of Windows-based hosting solutions, has selected the TippingPoint 5000E Intrusion Prevention System after a two month intensive evaluation period involving intrusion prevention systems (IPS) from multiple vendors.
MaximumASP, will use the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System to protect its internal network and provide secure hosting services to its customers.
"Our security team tested all current ASIC-based IPS systems on the market against each other in our Louisville, Kentucky lab," said Silas Boyle, Partner at MaximumASP. "After the testing was complete, TippingPoint was the hands down winner due to the superior performance and intuitive user interface. The TippingPoint IPS was the only product tested that could provide the required performance to protect our network from worms, viruses, denial of service attacks and application attacks. A superior product combined with TippingPoint's Digital Vaccine update service made this an easy choice. Out of all products tested, no signature/rule update service even compared to Digital Vaccine."
