Acquisition extends MCI's managed hosting portfolio; will offer options ranging from colocation services, enterprise hosting to outsourcing of application managment.
MCI, Inc., a global communications provider, yesterday announced the completion of its acquisition of Totality Corp., a privately-held, San Francisco-based provider of remote managed services.
MCI had announced the acquisition on 3rd August 2005. According to the company, it will enable MCI to offer remote monitoring and management of applications whether they are hosted at MCI's colocation centers or at customer locations, further extending MCI's managed hosting portfolio. MCI will now be also able to offer its customers flexible hosting options ranging from colocation services to enterprise hosting services to outsourcing of application management services.
"As more businesses and governments transition to IP, they are looking for higher-value services that help them better manage their IP infrastructure. This acquisition enables MCI to provide more fully integrated solutions from the networking to the application layer with the performance and reliability customers have come to expect from MCI," said Jonathan Crane, MCI Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.
