Aims to protect their international links from denial of service attacks inorder to better serve its customers from.
METANET AG, an Internet hosting service provider in Switzerland has implemented IntruGuard Devices, Inc's Denial of Service attack mitigation appliance, as announced yesterday by IntruGuard.
The new infrastructure protects their international links from denial of service attacks. With this new appliance in the network, METANET AG will be able to better serve its customers from attacks originating from diverse international locations.
The METANET AG has 500 servers in two data centers in Zurich, serving 10,000 customers and over 25,000 domains. The international links were badly abused and were affected by many denial of service attacks and distributed denial of service attacks prior to the deployment of IG2000. After its installation, attack traffic was automatically filtered allowing legitimate traffic through.
Mirco Schnarwiler, Co-founder of METANET AG observed, "Botnet and DDOS attacks have been growing and cost-conscious hosting providers like us need custom hardware based solutions that can withstand the attacks and mitigate them with the least manual intervention. IntruGuard's IG2000 lets us focus on more important business priorities. Ensuring high network availability to our customers is our prime concern. IntruGuard IG2000 was the best of the breed solution on the market for the purpose. Finally, it is the service that differentiates us in this competitive space and IntruGuard's IG2000 is an enabler."
Hemant Jain, Co-founder and CTO of IntruGuard added, "IG200/2000, with their fine granularity of counters used for traffic parameter monitoring build complex and detailed legitimate traffic model for a web-hosting infrastructure. This helps in mitigation of complex DDoS and Botnet attacks that attempt to mimic legitimate traffic. The web hosting industry is overwhelmed with growing number of DDoS and Botnet attacks. These attacks are resulting in lost revenues and unhappy customers due to the associated downtime. This affects their business image, reducing their competitiveness as customers are easily able to move a website to another service provider."
