Co-located at AboveNet, the company offers a self-managed server package for a $150 monthly fee; each server includes a dedicated IP subnet.
NakedBox Networks, a dedicated server solutions provider, today launched a new Carrier Class dedicated server offering.
Co-located at AboveNet, a tier 1 data center and network operator, the company offers a self-managed server package for a $150 monthly fee, which includes a high-end server, i.e. a 3GHz Pentium with hyper-threading, running Red Hat or FreeBSD, a dedicated private VLAN network per host, a dedicated IP subnet, remote power cycle capability, a stateful inspection firewall, a 99.9% availability SLA, egress billing, 24/7 customer service, and a terabyte of transfer traffic.
Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers are also available with a variety of configurable options. Each server includes a dedicated IP subnet in conjunction with a private VLAN, so each server is isolated.
"We have automated and streamlined our system so we can offer a better quality product at a lower price without sacrificing any of the features you would expect in a premium package," said Frank Basso, NakedBox's Chief Operating Officer. "So it's a premium product at a discount price. Existing services offering an equivalent package including remote reboot, Private VLAN, firewall services, and basic backups typically cost US$250 to US$400 a month with a set-up fee between US$100 and US$500 a month, so we're really pushing the edge of the envelope with our pricing. And we don't have a set-up fee."
