Philip Cheek to oversee management of the UK data center as well as lead its sales and marketing efforts throughout the UK and Europe.

NaviSite, Inc., a provider of cloud-enabled enterprise hosting and application services, yesterday announced that it has appointed Philip Cheek as UK Managing Director.

The company mentions that the announcement follows its appointment in March of R. Brooks Borcherding as the President. It says that based in the company's London, UK office, Cheek will oversee management of the UK data center as well as lead its sales and marketing efforts throughout the UK and Europe. The company adds that it continues to accelerate its growth and offerings in the global cloud-based managed services market.

It articulates that prior to joining the company, Cheek served in many different executive roles, including Managing Director at Globix for seven years. In this role, he turned the company into a profitable managed hosting company culminating in a GBP 35 million trade sale. He also has extensive knowledge of the data center market, having worked at Infinity as Director for Business Development.
