WordPress is a content management system and a blogging tool; facilitates setting up and maintaining a website.
Netfirms Inc., a provider of web hosting solutions, yesterday announced that it has added a hosted version of WordPress to its product line.
Netfirms WordPress is a content management system (CMS), as well as a blogging tool which makes setting up and maintaining a website faster and easier. The company said that by incorporating both a pre-install option during signup, as well as a one-click installer in the control panel, it makes it easy for customers to get started without having to manually install the software. The tool with an easy-to-use interface, allows anyone from beginners to experts to update their own websites in minutes, and see the changes in real-time, claims the company.
In addition, administrators can change design themes with one-click, completely altering the look of their site, including layout, colors and fonts, while the content stays the same. WordPress also includes advanced features, including multiple user-permission levels, trackback/pingback capabilities, robust spam protection, workflow options, password-protected posts and plug-in extendability.
"Web designers can build any style of website with WordPress and then choose to either update the content themselves, or allow clients, who don't need to know HTML, to handle that task," said Jason Matheson, Product Manager, Netfirms.
