RackForce Hosting Inc., a data center service provider today announced the opening of K3, its third data center facility, in Kelowna.
According to the company, it is built with capacity for up to 6000 rack mounted servers and can operate at speeds up to 10,000 megabits per second. The new facility will provide more space for its dedicated servers, virtual private servers and colocation services. K3 has been engineered to be a high availability data center including redundant dual hydropower substation connections. K3's first major tenant is the Kelowna Transit Exchange which is managed by BCNET, a network solutions provider.
"Due to high demand we have expanded to a 3rd data center as we are rapidly gaining customers who are looking for a safe environment with a low threat to natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes," said RackForce's Vice President, Brian Fry.
