NikanHost, a dedicated and VPS web hosting provider, yesterday announced that it will use R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology to offer a value-added backup service for dedicated server clients with data hosted on Linux and Windows servers.

The company states that with the new data protection service, it introduces customers to reliable, near-continuous backups and bare-metal restores. Fully integrated with cPanel, CDP backups can be easily accessed and self-managed by customers through R1Soft's easy-to-use web interface. The Bare-Metal Restore feature allows servers to be instantly rebuilt from scratch and restored to any point-in-time snapshot.

It further states that R1Soft CDP is a disk-based software that reads hard disk volumes at the block level, bypassing the file system to enhance performance and cut recovery times. CDP also possesses the innovative ability to only record data changes made after the last backup, creating smaller backup windows and faster backups.

The company says that it also has enrolled in the R1Soft Hosting Partner Program (R1HPP) to leverage a wide marketing resource collection among other exclusive benefits. Designed for providers, the R1HPP will help the company educate its clients about the many features and advantages of R1Soft Continuous Data Protection.
